谷口正典 / TANIGUCHI Masanori

1979年、静岡県島田市生まれ。

中高生時代にプロスケートボーダーを目指し、海外をはじめとするストリートカルチャーに

影響を受け写真を撮り始める。

専門学校時代に赤髪モヒカンだった事も有り、「チャボ」のアダ名が定着。

1999年、専門学校在学中にキヤノン写真新世紀優秀賞を受賞。卒業後は都内を中心にギャラ

リー、クラブ等で個展、グループ展多数開催。現在、路上や盛り場にて独自の視点で作品制作中。

ストリートの過激さの中に身を置きながら、繊細な視線と感度で被写体を写し撮る。

2010年には、英国のスケートボードブランド・landscape skateboardにてスケートデッキ・

hosoda daiki modelとして写真を提供。

Born 1979 in Shimada, Hiroshima prefecture.

Intended to become a professional skateboarder during his junior and senior high

school years, and took up photography due to influence of Western street culture.

Sported a red mohawk when a student at vocational school, thence earning the sobriquet

“Chabo” (a Japanese bantam).Received the CANON New Cosmos of Photography Award of

Excellence in 1999. Has after graduation exhibited his works mainly at galleries and clubs

in the Tokyo area, and also organised numerous group exhibitions. Currently composes his

unique work mostly on city streets and crowded milieus. Sets his scene in the midst of the

radical vortex of street life, but treats his subjects with a delicate touch and sensitivity.

Provided photographs in 2010 for the Hosoda Daiki model skate deck to the English

skateboard brand “Landscape skateboard.”
